Project Context

As part of my integration as a Senior Designer within Koba Civique’s UX/UI team, I designed a responsive website template for dynamic municipalities, especially those with a large student population. Building on existing models, I rethought the interface to offer a resolutely mobile-first, modern, and attractive experience. The design, colorful and illustrated, breaks away from classic institutional website codes to appeal to a younger, connected audience. This template was developed in React, within Koba Civique’s proprietary CMS environment, ensuring perfect compatibility between desktop, tablet, and mobile and optimizing production costs.

Objectives

  • Propose a mobile-first design adapted to the usage of young citizens.
  • Modernize the image of institutional websites through an illustrated and accessible graphic approach.
  • Create a template optimized for production within Koba Civique’s proprietary CMS environment.

Project Lifecycle

  • Analysis and audit of existing templates in the Koba Civique suite.
  • Creation of benchmarks and market research for local authority websites.
  • Organization and design of new components starting from a mobile-first approach.
  • Redesign of iconography with a modern and “funky” style.
  • Creation of mobile wireframes, then desktop.
  • Validation of wireframes with the project manager and React technical teams.
  • Creation of the functional prototype of the template.
  • Drafting of marketing documentation in collaboration with the Koba Civique team.
  • Preparation of the client presentation to promote the template to municipalities.

Results

The performance indicators for the Illustry project are not directly available, as I left Koba Civique shortly after the template was put into service. However, I laid the solid foundations — design, documentation, and transferability — allowing the team to maintain and enrich the project. Follow-up is ensured by the internal team, guaranteeing the longevity and future evolution of the template.
